Following surgery, Saif Ali Khan is no longer in danger, and doctors at Lilavati Hospital have confirmed his condition as stable. Khan was attacked early Thursday morning at his Mumbai residence, sustaining six stab wounds, including two deep cuts on his back—one alarmingly near his spine—and a minor neck injury.
Initial police investigations suggest the assailant may be connected to one of the household staff who reportedly allowed him entry into the residence. The staff member is currently being questioned by the police. Although the accused was initially confined to a room, he managed to escape. Theft is suspected as the motive behind the assault.
The Mumbai Crime Branch, along with local police, has launched an investigation into the case, reviewing CCTV footage for leads. The incident occurred around 2:30 am while Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, and other family members were asleep.
A Bandra police officer reported that domestic help Eliyama Phillipes, also known as Lima, was the first to notice the intruder at around 2 am. She raised an alarm, which woke Khan and his family. Khan confronted the intruder, resulting in a scuffle where he was attacked with a sharp object. Lima, who sustained injuries on her right wrist, has been taken to the Bandra police station for questioning, as she was the first victim in the incident.
