Actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after a robber came into his and his wife Kareena Kapoor’s Bandra (west) home and allegedly stabbed him. The actor and his other family members were asleep at his home on Thursday when the incident happened, which was around 2:30 am.
According to the police, the robber left the scene when the house’s residents awoke, and they are currently attempting to find him. A number of police teams have been established to find the offender, and the Bandra police are currently in the process of filing a formal complaint.
A senior IPS officer confirmed that “actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized at Lilavati Hospital following an injury during a robbery attempt at his Bandra home in Mumbai. While it remains unclear whether Saif was stabbed or injured in a physical altercation with the robber, investigations are underway by both the local police and the Mumbai Crime Branch.”
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, stated that “Saif was attacked by an unidentified person at his home and was brought to the hospital at 3:30 am. He sustained six injuries, two of which are severe, with one located dangerously close to his spine. A team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, is currently operating on him. The full extent of the damage will only be determined after the surgery is completed.”
Additionally, according to Dr. Uttamani, “Saif has another neck injury that is being evaluated. According to him, the procedure began at 5:30 am and is still ongoing.”
A doctor at Leelavati Hospital, who requested anonymity, informed HT that they found a piece of knife in the body and are still examining the extent of the injuries. However, the actor is able to move his limbs, indicating that his spine is healthy.
