The controversy regarding the suicide of Anuj Thapan (32 yrs) is getting darker as his family members have claimed that Mumbai Police has murdered Anuj.
If you are not aware of the matter, let us tell you that Anuj Thapan is one of the accused arrested by Mumbai Police in relation to the case of firing outside Salman Khan’s house. As per the reports, Anuj Thapan was in lock-up at the headquarters of Mumbai Police and yesterday at around 11 am, he went to bathroom where he committed suicide.
He was rushed to GT hospital but he was declared dead by the doctors over there.
Abhishek Thapan, brother of Anuj, told mediapersons that his brother used to work as a truck helper and he was not that kind of person who will commit suicide. Abhishek said, “Anuj was taken by Mumbai Police from Sangrur 6-7 days ago. Today, we received a call that Anuj had committed suicide. He was not the kind who could have committed suicide. He was murdered by the police. We want justice. He worked as a truck helper.”
Manoj Godara, the sarpanch of Anuj’s village also raised doubts over Anuj’s death, he said, “This case is suspicious from the beginning. They were two brothers, one sister and one mother. They don’t have a father. Anuj used to work as a helper to a truck driver. He was taken by Mumbai Police without informing the Panchayat. Even, the family was only informed 1-2 days later. We all know how much security is there in police custody. On one side is superstar Salman Khan and on the other side are the labourers. Under pressure, they have killed him and framed it as a suicide.”
