Salman Khan, a Bollywood star, has formally announced the second season of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), transitioning from brand ambassador to strategic investor in the nation’s motorsport assets. His action is intended to boost ISRL’s increasing momentum, with the ultimate goal of popularising Supercross in India.
ISRL’s goal of making Indian motorsport a commercial and cultural powerhouse was presented at the Mumbai news conference. Supported by Khan’s broad popularity, the league aims to rapidly expand its fan base, which currently stands at 30 million, and establish a vibrant platform that combines racing, entertainment, youth engagement, and brand integration.
Salman Khan expressed his excitement and stated, “”I’ve always been passionate about motorcycles and off-roading, when I saw what ISRL is building bringing together world-class talent, supporting home-grown athletes, and creating an entire ecosystem and lifestyle around the sport, I knew this was something I wanted to be part of, not just as a face, but as a believer. This league is about pushing boundaries, and that’s something I deeply connect with. With the launch of the ‘ISRL Proving Grounds’, we’re allowing India’s youth to access the support, tools, and coaching they need to chase big dreams and compete on a global stage. At the same time, ISRL is equally focused on promoting responsible riding and the importance of safety for racers and fans.”
On a 7-acre plot of land close to Pune, he also inaugurated the “ISRL Proving Grounds,” a first-of-its-kind grassroots racing development facility. With specially designed circuits for Supercross, motocross, ATVs, e-bikes, and more, it will work as a year-round training, testing, and activation area for both young riders and OEMs.
The transition of Salman Khan from brand ambassador to investor demonstrates his faith in ISRL’s mission. This action strengthens our standing as a reputable, scalable company created for India’s future generation by bringing unparalleled cultural capital and mainstream trust to our league. Veer Patel, MD, ISRL, stated, “His association communicates to the market that Supercross is prepared to spearhead the future of motorsport, youth engagement, and brand innovation in India.”
As the only Supercross league in India, ISRL continues to set new records by providing OEMs and brands with an exciting and immersive platform to engage with a young, active audience. One hundred fifty-five international athletes have already signed up for Season 2, demonstrating its expanding international recognition.
This season, ISRL Fan Parks will debut, combining live racing, entertainment, and interactive brand experiences in a family-friendly setting to further enhance fan engagement.
