Salman Khan’s iconic character, Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg series, was rumored to make a special cameo in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Singham Again. However, recent reports have confirmed that the cameo could not be filmed due to unfortunate circumstances. A report revealed that Salman was scheduled to shoot his cameo last week, but the sudden death of Baba Siddique, a close friend of Salman, led to the cancellation of the shoot.
According to insiders, director Rohit Shetty decided it would be insensitive to ask Salman to film the cameo during his time of mourning. Even though it was a one-day shoot, scheduled at Golden Tobacco in Mumbai, the team had a limited window as the film had to be submitted to the Censor Board by Friday, October 18. Given these constraints, Rohit and his team opted to move forward without Salman’s appearance in the film.
“Shooting with Salman just days after Baba Siddique’s passing was seen as insensitive. Rohit and Ajay Devgn had discussions and agreed to respect Salman’s privacy,” the source said. Despite this, there are reports suggesting that a brief appearance of Salman’s back shot in a police uniform might still make it into the post-credits scene.
Baba Siddique, a political figure, was tragically murdered on October 12 in Bandra East. A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder and issued threats to Salman Khan. Despite these threats, Salman rushed to support Siddique’s family after the tragedy and participated in the funeral rituals. On the latest episode of Bigg Boss 18, Salman admitted he was not in the right frame of mind to continue hosting the show due to the emotional toll of the recent events.
Despite the absence of Salman Khan’s cameo, Singham Again is set to release during Diwali this year and it will be clashing with Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
