Salman Khan returned to the big screen after two years with Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and featuring Rashmika Mandanna in a pivotal role. Despite the anticipation surrounding its Eid release, the film’s buzz did not match the frenzy of Salman’s previous festive blockbusters.
According to early estimates, Sikandar collected ₹26 crore on its opening day.
On Sunday, March 30, 2025, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 21.60%, with varying figures throughout the day:
· Morning shows: 13.76%
· Afternoon shows: 24.00%
· Evening shows: 25.08%
· Night shows: 23.55%
Region-wise occupancy rates revealed a mixed performance:
· Mumbai: 21.50% in the morning, 24% in the evening and night.
· NCR: 21.75% in the morning, 25% in the evening and night.
· Pune: 18.25% in the morning, with afternoon and evening shows at 21%.
While Sikandar posted decent numbers, it failed to surpass Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which debuted at ₹31 crore. In comparison, Salman’s previous Eid blockbusters had stronger openings—Sultan earned ₹36.54 crore on Day 1, while Tiger 3 soared with ₹53.3 crore.
With a 20.95% Hindi occupancy rate on its opening day, the film has started steadily but remains short of record-breaking territory. The coming days will determine whether Sikandar can gain momentum and turn into a major hit.
