The American spy thriller Citadel which stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden has been loved by audiences and now the makers are all set for bringing the Indian version on our screens with Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan in lead roles.
The Indian show will be directed by Raj and DK and it will be a prequel to the American show. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed in an interview that she is going to play the role of Nadia Sinh’s (Priyanka) mother who was also an agent earlier. While Nadia’s younger version will be seen in the Indian show, it is quite obvious that Varun Dhawan will be playing the character of Priyanka’s father as Samantha is playing her mother. Both the shows are set in different time periods and Samantha has also made it clear to a fan that the Indian version is not a remake as he believed that it will be based on the same storyline as of the American show.
Varun Dhawan has also played a cameo in the English show as in one of the episodes, he was introduced as Rahi Gambhir but only his voice was heard and the makers wrote “special thanks” to the actor in the credits which came at the end of the show.
