Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa: The Rise was one of the biggest hits of the Indian film industry and not just the plot and acting performances but the songs of the movie were also loved by the audiences.
There was one item song, “Oo Antava…” in the movie which featured Samantha Ruth Prabhu and it was showered with a lot of love by fans. Samantha looked great in the song but recently during an event, she revealed that she was uncomfortable while shooting it.
In her words, “I have always operated from a space of ‘I’m not good enough, I don’t feel pretty, I don’t look like the other girls.’ So for me, it was a huge challenge. It was actually the first shot of “Oo Antava”… I was shaking from fear because sexy is not my thing. It’s not my thing. But how I’ve grown both as an actor and as a person is I’ve always made sure that I put myself in the most uncomfortable, unforgiving, very difficult circumstances.”
Samantha also added that she did the song despite being uncomfortable because she wanted to explore new things. She said, “I think that, for me, it was the lyrics. It was a challenge. And I think we can move past judging women for wanting to look good. We can do everything. We can look good.”
When Samantha was asked whether she will do an item song again, she replied in negative. Here’s what she said, “No, I don’t see the challenge in it anymore.”
Fans are eagerly waiting for the second part of Pushpa which is slated to release on 15 August 2024.
