Details of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, the alleged replacement for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 model from last year, have leaked online once more and are anticipated to come in the upcoming months. Additionally, the book-style foldable may come pre-installed with Android 16 and a skin called Samsung’s One UI 8. The company is expected to equip this next-gen foldable with a specially designed Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, similar to the Galaxy S25 series that debuted in January.

Expected Specifications

Anthony (@TheGalox_), an X (formerly Twitter) user, revealed details about the upcoming foldable, claiming it will feature a powerful 200-megapixel primary camera—an upgrade over the 50-megapixel sensor seen in last year’s model. An improved under-display camera is also rumored to be in the works.

Instead of the previous 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch panels, this new iteration could sport an 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. According to the leak, users can expect better screen durability with newly added protective layers and a reduced crease.

This upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable is also said to be slimmer—possibly 4.5 mm when open, making it 1.1 mm thinner than its predecessor. Water and dust resistance may also see an upgrade from the current IP48 rating.

Along with a bigger vapor chamber for enhanced thermal control, the device will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. Reports also hint at a new vibration motor and improved speaker system for a refined multimedia experience.

Eligible Google Pixel smartphones should receive Android 16 by Q2 2025, and this new Galaxy foldable is expected to ship with One UI 8, based on the latest OS, when it launches in July.
