At its most recent Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung announced that it intends to release a multipurpose gadget soon. Since Huawei is already ahead of the competition, everyone anticipates that Samsung, the only company in the world that can mass-produce foldable smartphones, will introduce a comparable or superior product. Following the announcement, rumours circulated that the device would be released alongside the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold gadgets. There are no additional details regarding its model number and, more crucially, its market availability. It is currently rumoured to be dubbed the Galaxy G Fold.

Two Samsung Galaxy G Fold devices, SM-F968N and SM-F9680, have purportedly been sighted. The device’s code is essentially F968, with the final letter denoting the market in which it is (or will be) introduced by Samsung’s naming convention.

According to SmartPrix, the “N” in SM-F968N signifies that this model would be introduced in South Korea, Samsung’s native market. In the meantime, the SM-F9680’s “O” alludes to the Chinese market. According to the report, Samsung will introduce this tri-fold gadget under the Fold name rather than the W name that was applied to previous folding versions introduced in China.

The model, which has been given the market name Q7M, is anticipated to launch in October of this year. According to the source, Samsung usually releases its devices six to seven months after registering with the GSMA. Although Samsung’s decision to release this product in only two markets is disappointing, seeing competition in the tri-foldable market is encouraging. And because Huawei just launched the Mate XT Ultimate worldwide, it’s time for Samsung to enter the tri-fold market.
