Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed Kabir Singh which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in lead roles was one of the biggest hits of the year 2019 but it also created a lot of controversy because the movie was touted as toxic and problematic by a big group of society.
Adil Hussain, who played the role of professor and Dean of the medical college recently gave an interview in which he said that Kabir Singh is the only movie which he regrets doing. He said that he didn’t read the script and felt embarrassed after watching the movie and walked out just after 20 minutes.
Adil Hussain stated, “That’s the only film in my life that I have done without reading the script, without seeing the movie which it is based on. I regret it till today. The only movie I have regretted doing is that film…”
He said that he felt bad that he has worked in a movie in which women are not treated well and he also revealed that he tried to discourage the makers from casting him by asking for more money. He said, “I told my manager, ask for a lot of money, they’ll probably say no, but they agreed, so I went ahead and did it. I liked the scene I did; it was a good scene, so I assumed the film would also be good. But when I went to watch the film, I thought, ‘What am I doing here?’ You have no idea how embarrassed I felt.”
Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga reacted in a strong manner as he shared the video clip of the interview and wrote, “Ur ‘belief’ in 30 art films didn’t get as much fame to u as ur ‘regret’ of 1 BLOCKBUSTER film did. I regret casting u,knwing that ur greed is bigger than ur passion. NOW I’ll save U from the shame by replacing Ur face with AI help Now smile properly”.
