Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is going to release today on a digital platform and if we go by the reviews of the celebs who attended the premier of the series, it is going to be a wonderful experience for the audiences to revisit the era of 1940s.
The web series has an ensemble cast of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydri, Richa Chaddha, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, Taha Shah Badussha and others playing important roles.
During an event, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was asked the question regarding the star cast of the series and he made some interesting revelations. He said that the present cast of the series is not his first choice as initially Heeramandi was planned 18 years back as a movie with Rekha, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rani Mukerji./
He then revealed that as the star cast changed he had some Pakistani actors in his mind. He said, “This was 18 years ago, at one point it was Rekha ji, Kareena and Rani Mukerji. Then it changed into another cast. It was Mahira Khan, the Pakistani actress, at one point, with Imran Abbas and Fawad Khan. But that changed…”
