Sanju Samson Expresses Emotions After Smashing Knock Vs WI

The Indian cricket team made a great comeback in the third and the final ODI of the 3-match series against West Indies as they won the match by 200 runs. The Indian squad was slammed heavily after they lost the second ODI against the hosts and for now, they have silenced the critics by registering a big win.

The Indian openers Ishan Kishan (77 runs) and Shubman Gill (85 runs) produced a partnership of 143 runs for the first wicket and gave a solid platform to the remaining batters. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad failed in capitalizing the opportunity and got out on the score of 8 runs but Sanju Samson didn’t miss the chance to score runs as he did in the second ODI.

Sanju Samson who started scoring with a six played a brilliant knock of 51 runs for which he played 41 deliveries. His knock included 2 fours and 4 maximums and he helped his team in putting up a total of 351/5 on the scoreboard.

After the match, Sanju Samson talked not only about his knock but also about the challenges of being an Indian cricketer. He stated, “Being an Indian cricketer is challenging, I have played domestic cricket for the last 8-9 years and for India, here and there, so it gives you a bit of understanding of playing in different positions. It is the number of overs you get and it is not about batting position so you have to prepare accordingly.”

He further said, “It feels really great to spend some time in the middle, score some runs and contribute for your country. I had different plans for different players, I wanted to use my feet and dominate the lengths of the bowlers.”

In response to India’s 351, WI got all out at the score of 151 runs in just 35.3 overs and India won the series by 2-1.
