In a horrific incident, a class 9 student has been sexually harassed by a teacher of the school where she studies and the minor girl is said to be from the Dalit community. The crime came into light because of the footage which was captured by the CCTV placed in the classroom.
The accused in this case had warned the girl of severe consequences if she speaks to anyone in this regard. A case has been registered in the Kosi Kalan police station in Mathura district and the footage has been shared by an X handle with the caption, “In #UttarPradesh’s #Mathura, a CCTV footage of a teacher sexually harassing a girl student has surfaced. The victim alleged the accused later threatened her against raising complaint about the incident.”
Trigun Bisen, SP (rural), Mathura has told the media, “On the basis of CCTV footage available and complaint lodged, a case has been registered under section 376 (sexual assault), 504 (provocation) and 506 (criminal intimidation), as well as under provisions of POCSO Act and SC/ST Act at Kosi Kalan police station in Mathura district.”
He also revealed that the accused and the victim are from the same village and the accused is working as an ad-hoc teacher but he has been absconding since a case has been registered against him. The police department has formed several teams to catch the culprit and we also hope that the victim should get justice as soon as possible.
