Search Labs: Google introduces new AI-based search strategy for Indian users

Google has introduced its AI-based generative search strategy for Indian users, launching Search Labs in India and Japan. The chatbot-like experience will be available on Chrome and the Google app. Users must opt into Search Lab tests to help influence the future of search.

Google added a new function for Indian users on Thursday. The internet giant introduced its AI-based generative search strategy. The platform, which Search Labs will test for chosen users. The new functionality is available on Chrome and the Google app. Its chatbot-like experience will differ from the search bar.

“This week, we launched Search Labs in the first countries outside the US, India and Japan, allowing people to opt into SGE to help them understand topics faster, uncover new viewpoints and insights, and get things done more easily,” Google said.

The Indian version of this AI-based search, Search Generative Experience (SGE), would be offered in English and Hindi.

How to use this new feature?

After the US, internet users in India and Japan must opt into Search Lab tests to ”Help influence the future of Search by trying out brief experiments and innovative AI experiences.”

Users must first log in using Google Mail. The user will receive an email when they may start Labs experiment.

Tap the Labs icon upper left. The Labs icon is unavailable if you don’t see it. Discover Search Labs’ availability. You may need to join the Labs waitlist. Then click Join Waitlist. You’ll receive an email when experiments are ready. Pick an experiment you like. Tap an experiment card for details. Start the experiment.

Google claimed “Starting today, when you see an arrow icon next to information in an AI-powered overview, you can click to see relevant web pages, and easily learn more by visiting the sites.”

How will the new functionality assist users?

The new AI-based Search will provide users better results without splitting their inquiries into several questions. For instance, if a user searches for “which movie to watch Gadar 2 or OMG 2,” the search results will present an AI-powered overview of all the elements to consider before choosing.

The new Search will also offer a variety of online resources for particular inquiries. Asking follow-up inquiries enters conversational mode.

Google Search users may swap between English and Hindi using the language toggle button. Google can read results using the Listen button’s text-to-speech capability. Google will also include a microphone icon with a conversational mode to let users ask follow-up questions instead of typing.
