Every actor who has worked with Shah Rukh Khan seems to have a heartwarming story to share about him, and actress Archana Puran Singh recently added to that list. In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, she recalled a kind gesture by Shah Rukh during the filming of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998, which almost got him in trouble with producer Yash Johar.
Archana reminisced about her experience on the set, specifically during the shoot for the song “Koi Mil Gaya” at Mehboob Studio. While recounting the memory, she shared that the makeup rooms were quite far from the set, and since she was wearing heels and had been dancing, it was difficult for her to walk back. Shah Rukh, who had his own van, noticed her discomfort and kindly offered her his van to rest.
Archana recalled how she ended up falling asleep in Shah Rukh’s van during a long break. She shared, SRK came and let her sleep as he was already going for the shot.
However, this kind gesture didn’t go unnoticed by producer Yash Johar, who became concerned. Archana recalled, “Yash Johar came and got angry at Shah Rukh Khan for not being in his van. He asked, ‘Why are you out of your van?’ Shah Rukh replied, ‘Archana ji is sleeping in there’.” When Archana woke up, she asked Shah Rukh why he had done it, but she was touched by his thoughtfulness.
She went on to describe him as “sweet and a gentleman” and humorously added that after waking up, she helped herself to some sweets from Shah Rukh’s fridge, shooing away the spotboy and indulging in half a box.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Salman Khan, was released in 1998 and remains an iconic Bollywood film.
