Shahid Kapoor’s “Farzi” Inspired Fake Currency Racket Caught In Noida, 5 Detained

There is no denying the fact that movies and web series have a great deal of effect on our lives and sometimes criminals also get an idea to commit a crime after watching it in a film or show.

Some time back, Shahid Kapur starrer web series “Farzi” which also starred Vijay Sethupathi and Rashi Khanna in important roles got released on a digital platform and it was not only liked by audiences but it also inspired some criminals to commit a crime related to fake currency.

On Tuesday, the Noida Police succeeded in busting a fake currency racket with the arrest of 5 persons and it also seized fake notes worth Rs. 6.50 lakhs just ahead of the local body elections in the state.

The Additional DCP of Noida, Shakti Avasthy stated that the police team of Sector 24 made the arrests and recovered fake notes of 2000, 500 and 200 denominations. The five people who have been arrested by the police are Faiz Khan, Shibu Khan, Aditya Gupta, Ayush Gupta and Hari Om Atri and they have a complete chain for the purpose of supplying fake notes.

He also told that three other persons who are wanted in this connection are Singhania from Chhapra, Bihar, Bhola from Delhi and Mobin from Lucknow.

Avasthy further said that these criminals were inspired from a web series which released couple of months back and they used WhatsApp with virtual numbers in order not to get caught. He added that the gang also used Instagram for networking and they used to communicate with their clients through comments in YouTube.
