When Shakira steps on stage, the world expects a spectacle. And for the opening night of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in Rio de Janeiro, she delivered exactly that—this time with a striking Indian design twist.

To mark the beginning of her much-anticipated 2025 tour, whose title translates to “Women No Longer Cry,” the global pop icon chose an outfit that perfectly matched the spirit of strength and resilience behind the name. For the big night, she wore a dramatic crimson ensemble created by Indian designer Anamika Khanna, known for designing Rashmika Mandanna’s wedding outfits.

As she performed her 1998 hit Ojos Así, Shakira held the audience captive in a look that shimmered and moved with every beat. The centrepiece of the outfit was a jewel-encrusted bra top covered in red sequins, detailed embroidery and sparkling Swarovski crystals. Under the stage lights, the embellishments glowed intensely, adding to the drama of her performance.

Flowing from the neckline was a delicate body chain decorated with shimmering stones. It draped down her torso like liquid jewellery, highlighting her silhouette and adding another layer of sparkle. The 49-year-old singer paired the statement top with a hip-slung skirt made of layered red chiffon panels. The fabric swirled and flicked as she moved, creating a fluid, almost hypnotic effect.

The skirt was richly textured with fringe, beadwork and coin-like details that added rhythm and dimension. High slits revealed her toned legs, enhancing the powerful, stage-ready feel of the ensemble. The overall look carried subtle belly-dance and flamenco-inspired influences, blending glamour with cultural flair.

She completed the outfit with stacked metallic bangles and left her signature honey-toned curls loose and voluminous, amplifying the bold, untamed energy of the performance. Against the red backdrop and matching microphone stand, the monochrome styling created a strong visual statement—passionate, fierce and unmistakably Shakira.

By choosing Anamika Khanna for this milestone moment, Shakira not only embraced intricate craftsmanship but also added a global touch to her world tour. The result was a performance look that felt powerful, symbolic and impossible to ignore—just like the woman wearing it.
