Sharmin Segal Confessed People Laughed At Her When She Went On Stage For Acting

The actress Sharmin Segal was slammed a lot for her acting skills as people didn’t like her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Heeramandi and many trolled her by saying that she got the role because of nepotism and not talent.

Sharmin is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece and Heeramandi is Sharmin’s second project, earlier she debuted with Malaal (2019) in which she worked with Meezaan Jafri.

Recently Sharmin Segal gave an interview in which she revealed that she didn’t want to become an actor, she wanted to become a doctor initially and people laughed at her when she went on stage for acting.

She said, “While growing up, I wanted to be a doctor. I took to theatre while in college where I was bitten by the acting bug. People used to laugh at me when I was on stage as a 94 kg girl. Wishing to become an actor was scary as in the glamour world appearance matters the most, besides talent.”

She further added, “Bhansali saw that I was taking a keen interest in learning the nuances of acting, I was closely observing all the actors. After coming back from the acting school, I told him ‘let me audition for any film’. He asked me to meet Mangesh (Malaal’s director), he felt I was apt for Malaal.”

What do you think of Sharmin’s acting in Malaal and Heeramandi?
