The senior actor Shekhar Suman is gearing up for the release of his next series, Heeramandi which is slated to release on 1 May 2024 on a digital platform and during an interview, he opened up on his experience of working with the forever beautiful actress, Rekha.
Shekhar Suman worked with Rekha in Utsav (1984) and they both had some intimate scenes in the movie. Shekhar said that Rekha is a thorough professional who never complained about the intimate scenes in the film. He also recalled that on the first day of the shoot, an Income Tax raid happened at Rekha’s house but she was so professional that she kept working instead of rushing to her home.
Shekhar Suman said, “Any other actor would have packed their bags and gone away. She said, ‘Let them do their job, I’ll stay back and do mine’. I was afraid that my world had come crashing down, that she would leave and the film would get cancelled, my dreams would be shattered.”
He concluded by saying, “She was an absolute professional. I’ll forever be indebted to her.”
Talking about Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Heeramandi, the series is set in the period of 1940s and Shekhar Suman is playing the character of Zulfiqar Ahmed.
