Shivam Dube etched his name into the record books on February 2, becoming the first cricketer in history to win 30 consecutive T20I matches. The 31-year-old all-rounder from Mumbai, who made his T20I debut against Bangladesh on November 3, 2019, has played 35 matches for India in the shortest format.
Though his first outing saw India fall to a seven-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in Delhi, and his fifth match also ended in a loss to the same opposition in Thiruvananthapuram, he has since been a part of an unbroken winning streak.
Shivam Dube played a key role in India’s historic 5-0 whitewash of New Zealand in January 2020, featuring in all five matches. His presence in the team remained instrumental throughout 2024, when he played 15 T20I games, including eight during the T20 World Cup, all of which ended in India’s favor.
Initially overlooked for the recent five-match series against England, Shivam Dube was called up on January 25 as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy. He made an immediate impact, featuring in the last two matches and contributing significantly with both bat and ball. His vital knocks guided India to victory, while his two-wicket spell in the fifth and final T20I at Wankhede Stadium on February 2, 2025, helped seal yet another win.
Well done, Shivam Dube!
