The Tamil film industry has been abuzz following Nayanthara’s open letter accusing actor and producer Dhanush of legal actions against her. On Saturday, Nayanthara revealed in a public statement that Dhanush, the producer of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, had filed a ₹10 crore lawsuit against her for allegedly using behind-the-scenes footage from the film in her upcoming Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale.
The actress claimed that despite reaching out to Dhanush for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to use clips from the movie in her documentary, she received no response. Eventually, her team opted to use publicly available behind-the-scenes footage instead. However, Dhanush still initiated legal proceedings, accusing her of unauthorized use of the material. In her letter, Nayanthara criticized Dhanush for his actions, indirectly calling him a hypocrite.
Several actresses who have worked with Dhanush have shown solidarity with Nayanthara. Shruti Haasan, who co-starred with Dhanush in 3 (Moonu), hinted at her support by liking Nayanthara’s Instagram post. Other notable actresses, including Aishwarya Rajesh (Vada Chennai), Aishwarya Lekshmi (Jagame Thandhiram), Nazriya Fahadh (Naiyaandi), Anupama Parameswaran (Kodi), Parvathy Thiruvothu (Maryan), Manjima Mohan (Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam), and Gouri G Kishan (Karnan), also liked her post, showing their alignment.
Parvathy Thiruvothu went a step further, sharing Nayanthara’s letter on her Instagram Stories and expressing admiration for her courage by saluting her.

Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale, set to release on Netflix on November 18, chronicles the actress’s life journey, highlighting her professional struggles and personal milestones. The documentary will delve into her love story with director Vignesh Shivan, which began during the making of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
