Sources have informed a news channel that on Sunday, ahead of the crucial Edgbaston Test, Captain Gill hosted a full team dinner for the entire squad. The primary objective behind this initiative is to strengthen team bonding, especially considering the influx of new players within the team. This move has been widely welcomed, as no such team-building activities were organized under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy during the Australia tour.
Following India’s loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, there were pointed observations about a perceived lack of ‘team spirit’ within the squad. Reports even suggested that Head Coach Gambhir was displeased by the team being fragmented into different groups.
