Son of Sardaar 2, a sequel to his 2012 film Son of Sardaar, will see Ajay Devgn’s return. The new trailer says that the movie will be released on July 25. The sequel, which Vijay Kumar Arora directed, takes place in Scotland instead of Punjab and centers on a wedding.

With the opening question, “Will he survive Scotland?” the trailer tracks Devgn’s character through several humorous scenarios and strange locations. With humor based on cultural differences and inflated miscommunications, the story features several characters connected to a wedding.

Mrunal Thakur plays Devgn’s opposite in the movie. Ravi Kishan, Mukul Dev, Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Neeru Bajwa are among the other cast members. This is the last movie part played by Mukul Dev, who died in May 2024.

The 2012 film Son of Sardaar brought in almost ₹100 crore at the box office. It came out at the same time as Yash Chopra’s last movie, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and the simultaneous release caused a fight over screen distribution. At the time, Ajay Devgn complained about Yash Raj Films to the Competition Commission of India.

Actress Kajol, who is married to Devgn, discussed the matter in a recent interview with The Lallantop, stating that she felt “helpless” throughout the argument. She pointed out that time was required to allow emotions to subside and that both parties were defending their positions.

Director Vijay Kumar Arora is well-known for his Punjabi-language films, such as Kali Jotta and Godday Godday Chaa. He makes a comeback to Hindi cinema with Son of Sardaar 2.
