The England cricket team tasted their first test series defeat for the first time since they adopted the Bazball approach as the Indian team sealed the 5-match series in their name by defeating England in the fourth test match which was played at Ranchi.
Rohit Sharma-led team is leading by 3-1 as of now; the fifth test match will be played at Rajkot from 7 March and the Indian team will certainly look to end the series on a winning note.
Rohit Sharma is getting praised a lot not just by fans but also by the former Indian cricketers for leading the team in an impeccable manner and recently the former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly opened up on why he appointed Rohit Sharma the captain of the team after Virat Kohli left captaincy.
Rohit Sharma was made India’s captain when Sourav Ganguly was the President of the BCCI and he was slammed a lot at that time for removing Virat Kohli from the post of the captain.
While Ganguly has always maintained that he didn’t remove Kohli from captaincy, recently he told why he made Rohit Sharma the skipper of the team, he said, “Look at the way he captained in the World Cup. Taking India to the final. I think India was the best team in the competition till they lost the final. So he is a good captain, IPL trophies. I am not surprised by the way he led. He became the captain when I was the BCCI president, and I am not surprised by the way he has led the team. I made him the Indian captain because I saw the talent in him, and I am not surprised by what he has done.”
Well, we also agree with Sourav Ganguly, what do you say?
