Sreeleela has created waves with her appearance in Kissik, a special song from the highly-anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule. At a press event for her upcoming movie Robinhood, the actress spoke candidly about her decision to take on the much-discussed track and addressed speculation surrounding her remuneration.
The actress emphasized that the song plays a significant role in the film’s narrative, setting it apart from being just a typical “item song”. “The song itself will justify my choice. It’s not your typical item song. There’s a strong narrative reason behind it, which will become clear when the movie releases,” Sreeleela said.
Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, Kissik has captured attention for its dynamic beats and Sreeleela’s stunning performance. While comparisons have been drawn to Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s chart-topping Oo Antava from Pushpa: The Rise, the track has carved its own identity. Within 12 hours of release, it achieved a record-breaking 17.7 million views, sparking excitement for the sequel.
When asked about reports claiming she received Rs 2 crore for the song, Sreeleela responded humorously:”We haven’t even discussed the remuneration with the producers yet.”
This contrasts with Samantha’s reported Rs 5 crore payment for Oo Antava. Sreeleela dismissed the rumors, focusing instead on the creative significance of the song in the movie.
With Pushpa 2: The Rule already generating immense buzz, Kissik has further heightened anticipation for the film’s release.
