The much-celebrated ‘90s cult classic Khal Nayak is officially set to return to the big screen with a sequel, reigniting nostalgia among fans who still remember the electrifying line, “Nayak nahi, khalnayak hoon main…” Director Subhash Ghai has confirmed that the script for the sequel is complete, and preparations are now underway to lock in the cast and technical crew.

Speaking to a leading publication, Ghai said, “Yes, the script is complete now and the rest of the cast and technicians will soon be finalised.” With that confirmation, the journey of bringing back the gritty, dramatic world of Khal Nayak has officially begun.

Originally released in 1993, Khal Nayak made a lasting impact on Indian cinema. Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal of the anti-hero Ballu remains one of his most iconic roles, while Madhuri Dixit, as Ganga, delivered a performance filled with grace and power. The film also gained infamy and acclaim for its music, particularly the bold and unforgettable track Choli Ke Peeche, which stirred both controversy and chart-topping success.

The sequel promises a fresh take, featuring a new generation of actors in leading roles. While details about the cast remain under wraps, Ghai has hinted that the original stars, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, may make special appearances, offering a link between the original and the reboot.
