The famous director Subhash Ghai who has given many big hits such as Hero, Khalnayak, Pardes, etc has talked about his relation with superstar Shah Rukh Khan during the shooting of Pardes which released in 1997.
Pardes also starred Mahima Chaudhary, Amrish Puri, Alok Nath, etc and it was a blockbuster on the box-office.
During a podcast, Subhash Ghai revealed that he and Shah Rukh Khan had differences while shooting the movie, he said, “Jaise maine Pardes mein Shah Rukh Khan ke saath kaam kiya. Uske aur mere beech manmutaav chalta rehta tha, tu-tu main-main chalti rehti thi.” (I worked with Shah Rukh in Pardes. We had our share of disagreements).
He further added, “I kept reminding him (Shah Rukh Khan) in every scene and song that he has to avoid his compelling, romantic side to justify Arjun’s character. It was challenging for him but he nailed it!”
Shah Rukh and Subhash Ghai haven’t worked together since Pardes and as of now, the chances of them working together are pretty bleak.
