Success Story of the World’s Greatest Investor: Warren Buffett

Warren Buffet is an American investor, businessman, and philanthropist who have a net worth of USD 78.9 billion as of August 2020, ranking him seventh in the world. Check out his success story.

Warren Buffet is a businessperson, investor, and also a philanthropist based from the United States of America. He is also a self-made millionaire and one of the most talked-about stock market investors of our time. His net worth is USD 78.9 billion as of August 2020, ranking him seventh in the world.

Buffet demonstrated an early business spirit. He bought his first stock at the age of 11 and invested in other firms throughout his childhood. In the year 1930, he was born to Leila Buffet and Howard Buffet, a Congressman.

Buffet was lured to finance and business at a young age and worked at a variety of odd occupations. During his sophomore year, he started his business career with a friend. So he grudgingly decided to attend the University of Pennsylvania before being moved to the University of Nebraska, where he earned a business degree after three years.

He met famous security specialists David Dodd and Benjamine Graham while attending the Columbia Business School. They remained lifelong pals.

The Dean of Wall Street was Graham. He invented the concept of value investing, which formed the cornerstone of Buffet’s investment philosophy.

In an interview, Buffet indicated that attending Graham’s security analysis workshops and reading his book, The Intelligent Investor, helped develop him as an investor. He is now Hathaway’s chairman and CEO. He has also been the company’s major shareholder since 1970.

Warren became a millionaire when Berkshire Hathaway started his trading in class A shares in the year of 1990. Owning Berkshire Hathaway is, ironically, one of biggest regrets of Warren Buffet. Buffet is involved in a number of philanthropic endeavours, with the majority of his earnings going to various charity trusts. He also gave almost 99 percent of his money to charity, commonly through the most trusted Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Warren Buffet built his investing career on the cornerstone of value investing. Berkshire Hathaway is a typical example of how he recognised prospective low-value deals and converted them into mega-deals. He invested in Berkshire with no knowledge of textiles and gradually shifted the company’s emphasis. Berkshire Hathaway is today one of the largest conglomerate holding firms, owning stakes in various corporations.

Warren Buffet’s success teaches us that information is always more essential. It offers you decision-making power, which you may utilise to make a fortune. His life reminds us to never give up – if you start little, work hard to make it large, and do it with enthusiasm.
