The buzz surrounding King, the upcoming action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, continues to build as the film officially enters production. The film is especially significant as it marks the much-awaited big-screen debut of Suhana Khan, who will be seen sharing screen space with her father for the first time. Also joining the cast is Munjya actor Abhay Verma, who has been roped in for a pivotal role.
According to a report, while the shoot was initially scheduled to commence on May 16, there was a slight delay. Director Sidharth Anand has now begun filming, with Suhana and Abhay already shooting their portions at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio. “Though initially Abhay was to join around June–July, some scheduling changes have happened,” a source revealed, indicating an earlier start than originally planned.
An insider also shared that action sequences involving Shah Rukh Khan’s body double have already been shot, with the production team taking extensive precautions to maintain secrecy. “Some of the action that involves Shah Rukh’s body double have been shot already. [The makers have ensured] massive security to avoid leaks from their set [in Bandra],” the source stated.
Slated for a 2026 release, King will see Shah Rukh Khan portray a powerful assassin embedded in the criminal underworld. Alongside Suhana and Abhay Verma, Abhishek Bachchan is already confirmed to be part of the cast. Recent reports also suggest that Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, and Anil Kapoor are set to appear in key roles, adding even more star power to this high-stakes cinematic venture.
