Surprising Visuals At Cricket Ground, Middle Stump Knocked Back But Batter Is Not Out

Cricket is one of the most loved sports of the world and it is a very unpredictable game as well. Many times we have seen weird incidents taking place on the cricket field and recently in a cricket match, a batter was given not out even after the middle stump was knocked back.

As per the rules of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), “The wicket is broken when at least one bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or one or more stumps is removed from the ground.”

The incident took place during the ACT Premier Cricket 3rd Grade match in Australia and the official Twitter handle of Cricket ACT shared a photo with the caption,

“Things you don’t see every day…

Explain this one from a Ginninderra-Wests game for us, cricket fans – how was this possible?

Physics? Chewing Gum? Swollen timber in all the rain?

Sam Wightman, the skipper of the Western Districts was quite unhappy after the batter was not given out but then he saw the funny side of the incident, he said, “I’ve never seen that happen before. No one has seen it happen. We all found it pretty funny afterwards. At the time we were happy to take the wicket, then we weren’t so happy the batsman had to come back. We got him not long after, which made me happier.”

Well, have you seen something like this earlier?
