Taapsee Pannu, celebrated for her compelling performances, has once again stirred excitement among fans of the Haseen Dillruba franchise. After captivating audiences as Rani in both the original and its 2024 sequel Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, the actress has now hinted at the possibility of a third installment — and fans are already buzzing with anticipation.
Recently, Taapsee reposted a scene from Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba on her social media with the caption, “Missing the pagalpan, Pandit ji. What say?” tagging the film’s writer Kanika Dhillon. The post immediately sparked fan theories, and Kanika’s cheeky reply only added fuel to the fire. “The wait won’t last that long Rani ji! Panditji is already onto the agli kitaab Iss wali mein there is Pagalpan x 3,” she wrote, hinting at an even wilder third chapter.
Taapsee wasn’t done there. She followed up by sharing Kanika’s response, this time turning to her audience with a playful question: “Let’s ask the audience who gave us so much love…What twist are you expecting in this unexpected in life of Rani this time?”
While the story for the third installment remains under wraps, the sequel, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, which dropped on Netflix in August 2024, continued the unpredictable journey of Rani and Rishu. With Sunny Kaushal joining Taapsee and Vikrant Massey, the film picked up where its predecessor left off — the couple on the run in Agra, a plan gone awry, and the introduction of a mysterious admirer who brings more drama into Rani’s chaotic world.
Away from Rani’s thrilling escapades, Taapsee Pannu is also diving into the action genre with her upcoming film Gandhari, where she stars alongside Ishwak Singh. Written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Devashish Makhija, the action thriller marks Taapsee’s first collaboration with Kanika in this genre. The project, produced under Dhillon’s Kathha Pictures, wrapped filming in March 2025 and is slated for release later this year.
Speaking about the film, Kanika shared with PTI, “This is the first action film that I am doing with Taapsee. We have a stellar team, a fantastic director, and so much talent onboard. I’m thrilled to have them all come together for my second production.”
As fans eagerly await more news on both Gandhari and the next Haseen Dillruba installment, one thing is clear — Taapsee Pannu shows no signs of slowing down, and the stories she tells continue to keep audiences hooked.
