In Jamnagar, Gujarat, Radhika Merchant made a stunning fashion statement at her Hastakshar wedding, wearing bespoke lehenga saree by famous designer Tarun Tahiliani. A series of three-day pre-wedding festivities, attended by luminaries from the entertainment, business and politics sectors, culminated in this ritual that symbolises the couple’s union and marriage.
Anant chose a traditional sherwani for the event, and Radhika’s Tarun Tahiliani creation was elegantly designed, inspired by eponymous temple complex. Tahiliani praised Radhika, stating that she is an ideal bride to craft for. A “sartorial temple complex” in the lehenga saree, intricate embroidery in peaches, corals, and sunset colors, exuded a sense of divine mercy.
It was a poetic tribute to Indian heritage, with hand painted miniature artistry and elaborate kasheedakari. A timeless elegance was present in the blouse, featuring jaali and resham work, while a hand-painted dupatta added radiance to the outfit. A scalloped rose gold tissue veil was a must-have accessory to complete the royal ensemble.
Radhika’s bride-to-be was adorned with Rhea Kapoor’s sister, Sonam Kapundra, who played a key role in styling her to exude elegance and grace. The ensemble was expertly crafted by Dolly Jain, a well-known personality. A diamond choker necklace, jhumkis, mang tika, haath phool, and rings were the accessories Radhika chose for the look. With minimal makeup and half-up half down hair, she completed her Hastakshar ceremony look with a natural beauty.
The graceful creation of Tarun Tahiliani, who embodied the essence of Indian culture in a contemporary manner, was used as the setting for Radhika Merchant’s Hastakshar ceremony. Radhika’s individuality was showcased in the clothing, which also exemplified Tahiliani’ design and craftsmanship.
