Although the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic is nearly finished due to a drop in coronavirus cases, information technology (IT) businesses are treading carefully when it comes to summoning employees back to work. For the time being, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HCL Technologies are employing a hybrid approach of work.

“As the situation with respect to Covid-19 improves around the world, and now that the majority of our associates and their families have been vaccinated, we are transitioning into a hybrid mode of working, with our associates choosing to spend time at both office premises and working remotely,” TCS stated.

We plan to return our personnel to the office in the following months.”

According to the statement, the corporation is already urging its employees to return to their separate offices. Senior management executives have begun to work from offices on a regular basis.

TCS stated that it is using a ‘2525 model’ when it comes to hybrid mode. “This approach will require no more than 25% of our associates to work from an office at any given moment, and they must spend no more than 25% of their time in the office.

“However, an important aspect of the road to the 2525 model is to first return workers to physical workplaces and gradually move into the hybrid work paradigm,” said the Tata group firm. According to the company, it has also established occasional operating zones (OOZ) and hot desks.

“These OOZs enable our associates to plug in their system at any office throughout the country and instantaneously connect to the global workforce.””

HCL Technologies, another technology behemoth, is likewise sticking with the hybrid mode for the time being. According to an HCL representative, the safety and well-being of its employees and their families is one of the company’s top objectives.

“We also remain deeply committed to maintaining our business routine and, as a result, providing uninterrupted services to our clients.”

We are currently analysing the situation and will continue to operate in a hybrid approach “a spokeswoman stated.

Infosys has previously stated that it is considering a “phased return to office.” “, encouraging its staff to come into the office in person once or twice a week.

“In a steady-state scenario, subject to Covid-19 scenarios, we anticipate a hybrid model in which approximately 40-50 percent of employees are likely to work from home following subsequent phases of return to work.” “Earlier, Richard Lobo, executive vice president and head of human resources at Infosys, stated.

Another tech business, Cognizant, has previously stated that it intends to return to the office in stages beginning in April 2022 as it monitors the Covid-19 situation.

According to the most recent data from the health ministry, the number of active Covid-19 cases in India has decreased to 22,427. A single-day increase of 1,938 coronavirus infections and 67 fatalities has brought India’s total number of cases to 4,30,14,687, with a death toll of 5,16,672.
