Terrifying Gunpoint Robbery in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan Tunnel Caught on CCTV

The event happened on Saturday near the Pragati Maidan Tunnel in Delhi. The
gunpoint robbery was captured on CCTV, which has since appeared online.

Four unidentified guys are accused of robbing two men a delivery agent and
his associate at gunpoint of Rs 2 Lakh within the Pragati Maidan tunnel in
the nation’s capital. According to information released by the Delhi Police
on Monday, the horrifying occurrence occurred on Saturday inside the
Pragati Maidan tunnel as the victims were riding in a taxi towards
Gurugram to pay the money. “A delivery agent and his associate were
robbed at gunpoint of Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh cash by a group of unknown
assailants inside the Pragati Maidan Tunnel on June 24,” according to the
Delhi Police.

The 1.5 kilometer tunnel links Noida, Sarai Kale Khan, and New Delhi. The
police added that a case has been opened under IPC sections 397 (robbery,
or dacoity with attempt to inflict death, or grave hurt) and 34 (common
intention) in response to a complaint from the victims.

CCTV footage is discovered:

Four men on two motorcycles are seen waylaying the Ola cab that the
delivery agent had ordered from the Red Fort area as it approaches the
tunnel on the Ring Road in CCTV footage of the daylight heist that was
captured on a security camera located in the tunnel. The two armed thieves
who were riding as passengers dismount their motorcycles. While the other
one retrieves the cash bag from the backseat, one of them is seen pointing a
gun at the two men in the taxi. Then, the four unidentified robbers leave the area

Kejriwal Criticises Delhi LG:

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, criticized Lieutenant Governor
Vinai Kumar Saxena and demanded his resignation from his position when
CCTV footage of the incident appeared on social media. Kejriwal stated on
Twitter that the LG should be replaced by someone “who can provide safety
and security to the people of Delhi”. “LG should step down. Make room for
a person who can guarantee Delhi’s citizens’ safety and security. Give it to
us if the Central government is unable to secure Delhi. The Delhi CM
tweeted and shared a video of the incident, saying, “We will show u (you)
how to make a city safe for its residents.

On Twitter, Delhi Minister Atishi added, “LG sir: If you get free time from
taking credit for @ArvindKejriwal’s work, then occasionally pay heed to
your constitutional responsibilities. It is your responsibility to keep Delhi’s
residents safe. And now, openly visible thievery, dacoit, and murder
occurrences are occurring in Delhi. Either you assume security
responsibilities or you step down.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Pranav Tayal, a robbery
complaint with an attempt to do great bodily harm has been filed.

In a written complaint, the complainant, named as Patel Sajan Kumar, a
delivery agent for a private company in Chandni Chowk, stated that he and
his friend Jigar Patel were travelling to Gurugram to transfer the money to
a client.

The two supposedly hired an Ola cab from a location close to Red Fort.
Four individuals on two motorbikes stopped their cab as it approached the
Pragati Maidan tunnel from Ring Road, and they demanded the cash bag at
gunpoint, according to Tayal, who was speaking to the media.
