Even though Avatar The Way of Water has nine more days before it opens in theaters, the movie is already breaking box office records. Ten days prior to its opening, the James Cameron movie reportedly reached the milestone of $10 million in nett bookings on Monday evening. This surpasses the milestone achieved by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness earlier this year and sets a new record for any movie released in India. Avatar The Way of Water is the follow-up to the 2009 blockbuster Avatar, which is still the most successful movie ever made globally. The James Cameron-directed movie is the second installment of a five-film series that is currently in development. On December 16, it will be available everywhere. Due of the intense anticipation around the movie, advance booking began last week in India.

BoxOfficeIndia.com said that, ten days before its premiere, the movie had already surpassed 10 crore, the quickest rise in Indian cinema history. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness reportedly reached the 10-crore nett milestone nine days before its release, according to the report. The Avatar 2 budget of 10 crores is for all days for which reservations are currently being taken (the first weekend). Even by themselves, the statistics for first-day advance reservations are outstanding. By Tuesday afternoon, the movie had already sold 4.8 crore rupees’ worth of tickets for its opening day, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

The film may not be able to shatter Avengers: Endgame’s record for the most advance screenings in India despite its rapid pace. In advance bookings, the 2019 Marvel movie made 65 crore net in all languages. Avatar 2 has nine days to reach the goal but may have difficulty. Another Marvel movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which made 47 crore in advance booking last year, holds the record for the epidemic era for a Hollywood movie.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver are all returned from the original Avatar movie, and Kate Winslet is included this time. The first reviews of the movie were recently released, and most critics praised it and dubbed it a visual masterpiece.
