“There are very few ambassadors of the Test like Virat Kohli”: Ravi Shastri

There is no doubt that cricket fans are losing interest in the test format as in the fast-paced world, no one has so much time to focus on test matches. However, the ICC is coming up with new ideas which can help in keeping test cricket alive but a lot depends on cricketers as well.

There is one cricketer who has played an important role in increasing the interest of fans in test cricket and he is India’s Virat Kohli. The former skipper of the Indian cricket team is known for his aggressive attitude and under his leadership, India has played fearless brand of cricket.

Recently during a show, Ravi Shastri, the former Indian cricketer who also served as the head coach during Virat Kohli’s captaincy stint, talked about Kohli and praised him for his work ethic, passion, etc. Ravi Shastri stated, “His work ethic, the passion for the game and the desire to perform against the best in the world and getting himself into the position that allows himself to do that. Sacrifice whatever is needed to get there. No one trains harder and works harder than him.”

Ravi Shastri who is currently doing commentary in the Aus vs Pak test series revealed as to why Virat Kohli loves to play in Australia. He said, “He loves batting in Australia, he loves the way the Australians compete, it gets the best out of him. Some of his best batting I saw in my years as a coach has come against Australia. The 100 he scores here in Perth was on a dodgy pitch where people were getting hit.”

Ravi Shastri shared some more words of praise for Virat Kohli as he said, “He is one of the modern-day greats, he has kept Test cricket going. There are very few ambassadors of the Test like Virat Kohli. He brings energy on the field as a captain and as a player, look at his eyes, he means business. He meant business in this year’s World Cup. In the final, his was the biggest wicket that changed the whole tempo of the game and silenced the crowd.”

We certainly agree with Ravi Shastri, what do you say?
