Shah Rukh Khan continues to dominate Bollywood, captivating audiences with his charisma and talent. In a recent interview, the superstar revealed his unwavering dedication to acting and shared lightheartedly that he hopes to keep performing until his final moments. Despite his monumental success, Khan doesn’t take himself too seriously as an actor. Instead, he views his career as a celebration of life, expressing how much he enjoys entertaining people.
SRK recently spoke with the Locarno Film Festival for their YouTube channel, where he candidly discussed his approach to acting and his future in the industry. During the festival, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award and was asked if he would want to act forever. Shah Rukh Khan responded with enthusiasm, saying, “Will I act forever? Yeah, till the day I die, my life’s dream is for somebody to say action, and then I die. They say cut, and then I don’t get up. ‘It’s over now, please?’ I say, ‘No, till you all say it’s okay, you all say it’s okay for me. Yes, I’d love to act forever.”
In the same conversation, Khan shared his thoughts on stardom, noting that he sees it as separate from his work and the affection he receives from fans. He explained, “Stardom has nothing to do with what I do and what they do. So I’ve never thought of stardom as anything important. Yes, I respect it a lot. It has given me a lot of recognition, love, money. My family feels happy because of it. But beyond that, stardom is not something that I carry as the first thing when I walk into a room.”
Khan likened his approach to fame to wearing a simple garment: “For me, I’ve always said this. It’s an old thing I always felt. To me, I wear stardom like a T-shirt, not like a tuxedo. It’s not important.”
Shah Rukh Khan is set to star in Sujoy Ghosh’s King, where he will be joined by his daughter, Suhana Khan, marking another exciting chapter in his legendary career.
