The India-Pakistan encounter in the Asia Cup 2023 which got spoiled due to rain on 2 September 2023 was one of the biggest contests of the cricket world and it was one of the most hyped matches of the tournament but everyone was left disappointed as the match got washed due to rain.
The toss was won by the Indian team and the whole team got out for 266 runs in 48.5 overs after batting first with the help of brilliant knocks by Ishan Kishan (82 runs) and Hardik Pandya (87 runs). However, the Pakistani team couldn’t even start their chase as rain didn’t let them play even a single ball but one Pakistani girl got very popular among the Indian cricket fans after this match.
This girl was supporting both the teams as she had flags of both the nations painted on both cheeks, she told the reporter, “I support both Pakistan and India, both together.” When she was asked to choose between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, she said, “Virat Kohli… Virat Kohli is my favourite player; I have specially come here for him, to see him. I was expecting him to score a century, but I’m heartbroken.”
Nevertheless, what made Indians love her more was her statement when she was stopped by one person from loving and supporting India, she said, “Chacha, Padosiyon se pyaar karna buri baat toh nahi hoti.” (Uncle, it is not bad to love the neighbours).
