Even at a mere 14 years of age, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is already making significant ripples in the cricketing world. Currently in England for a Youth Test series, the prodigious teenage batter recently had an encounter with some devoted fans—two of whom undertook an impressive six-hour drive just for a chance to see him.
His IPL franchise, the Rajasthan Royals, shared a couple of images on their social media, revealing that two girls named Aanya and Rivaa, who are also teenagers, drove for several hours from Worcester. Their mission? To watch Suryavanshi play against England U-19 in the recently concluded five-match Youth ODI series.
Suryavanshi burst into the limelight earlier this year with a record-breaking century in the IPL, and the batter from Bihar continues to demonstrate his diverse talents. In the Youth ODI series, he amassed a remarkable 355 runs from five matches, the highest in the series. He achieved this with a stunning strike-rate of 174.02 and an average of 71, hitting 30 fours and 29 sixes.
He also smashed a blazing century during the series—a rapid 143 off just 52 deliveries, setting a new record for the quickest century in Youth ODIs. India ultimately secured the series victory with a 3-2 win.
