Tuesday is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s day to inaugurate the new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport when he is in Tamil Nadu. PM Modi will leave Tiruchirappalli to start his tour of South India. In Tamil Nadu, the prime minister will dedicate and inaugurate the country and lay the cornerstone for other development projects valued at over ₹19,850 crore.
The PMO statement states that the development of Tiruchirappalli International Airport’s new terminal building came at a cost of more than 1,100 crore.
Tiruchirappalli’s vibrant culture influenced the airport’s design. It will feature various subject artworks and art styles, such as Kolam painting and the hues of Srirangam Temple. Over 44 lakh passengers a year and roughly 3,500 passengers during peak hours may be served by Trichy Airport.
There are 60 check-in desks, 5 baggage carousels, 60 arrival immigration counters, and 44 departure emigration counters in the new Trichy airport terminal building. After Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Tiruchirappalli Foreign Airport is the second-biggest airport in terms of foreign passenger traffic.
In December, domestic air travel reaches a record high. The Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the country, and lay the foundation stone for development projects valued at over ₹1,150 crores during his visit to Lakshadweep.
PM Modi will officially launch the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fibre Connection (KLI – SOFC) project.
The PM will open Mumbai’s “longest sea bridge” on January 12. Additionally, he will dedicate the Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) facility in Kadmat to the country, which can generate 1.5 lakh gallons of pure drinking water per day. In addition, PM Modi will dedicate Kavaratti’s solar power plant, Lakshadweep’s first battery-backed solar power facility.
