Tom Moody Has A Golden Advice For Suryakumar Yadav To Regain Fitness After Injury

The match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings was one of the most exciting matches of the ongoing IPL 2024; it was played yesterday at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium, Mohali, Punjab and MI won it by 9 runs.

Batting first, MI put up a total of 192/7 with the help of superb innings of Suryakumar Yadav (78 runs, 53 balls, 7 fours & 3 sixes) and the MI bowlers also ripped apart the top order of PBKS as half of the Punjab squad was back in the dugout by the 7th over at the score of 49 runs. But Shashank Singh (41 runs, 25 balls, 2 fours & 3 sixes) and Ashutosh Sharma (61 runs, 28 balls, 2 fours & 7 sixes) tried their best to make their team win the match but things didn’t go as per their plans.

SKY performing well for MI is a good sign for the Indian team considering the fact that the T20 World Cup is just around the corner. SKY has come back after a long period as he has undergone a couple of surgeries and former Australian cricketer Tom Moody also praised the Indian finisher and gave a piece of advice to him on regaining fitness. Moody said, “Yeah it’s important that he slowly works back into full fitness, he needs to be playing for the whole 40 overs and that would be great. Not that he bowls or anything but for his own peace of mind and fitness for that the preparation for what is beyond the IPL.”

Moody further said, “It was a great innings today and his chat in the middle of the innings talking about how unsure he was about the surface and how as a team they would want to make sure that all their top order batters are still there till the 17th over so, clearly losing Rohit Sharma at that point he had to take up the responsibility. So that took it a little down from his normal strike rate which is 160-170. But still at 150, who wouldn’t take 150?”
