The bodyguard of a Trinamool Congress lawmaker was discovered dead on Saturday morning in the grounds of the MLA hostel in Kolkata, according to the police.
They stated that Jaydeb Ghorai, the deceased’s bodyguard, was recognised as Trinamool Congress MLA Rajib Lochan from Bandwan in Purulia.
According to the police, the body has been submitted for a post-mortem and the cause of the untimely death is being investigated.
Following news of the event, West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee paid a visit to the MLA hostel.
