In a recent interview, Amar Upadhyay shared his experience of reuniting with Smriti Irani at Ekta Kapoor’s residence after many years. He fondly noted that despite her prominent political stature, Smriti remains unchanged, still possessing the same grounded demeanor. He even revealed that upon seeing him, Smriti playfully asked, “When will you get old?” This reboot marks Smriti Irani’s return to acting after a 15-year hiatus.
While speaking in the interview, Amar Upadhyay opened up about his interaction with Smriti Irani, stating, “When I met her at Ekta Kapoor’s house, it felt like no time had passed. We were just the same. She joked, ‘Tu boodha kab hoga?’ (‘When will you get old?’) and I said, ‘Abhi time hai (There’s still time)’ (laughs). She’s always been grounded, and that hasn’t changed one bit. Our interaction was exactly how it used to be 25 years ago.”
In the same interview, Amar Upadhyay also addressed how the reboot plans to handle the significant time gap, assuring fans that the makers have thoughtfully integrated it into the storyline. He explained, “The story justifies the return of each character and how their relationships have evolved. The love between Mihir and Tulsi has matured.
