The Indian cricket team continued with their winning streak as they defeated England by 100 runs in their 6th match which was played yesterday at Ekana Sports City, Lucknow. It was a low-scoring match in which England won the toss and decided to bowl first, the Indian cricket team had a bad start as opener Shubman Gill (9 runs) got out early. However, what hurt the Indian team more was the quick dismissal of Virat Kohli who got out at the score of duck and he was followed soon by Shreyas Iyer (4 runs).
Despite losing three wickets at quick intervals, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma showed no signs of worry and he stood his ground firmly. Rohit Sharma played a captain’s knock of 87 runs and he was well supported by KL Rahul who played a useful knock of 39 runs. A brilliant knock was also played by Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav who scored 49 runs and helped his team in posting the total of 229 runs.
The target was certainly not a big one for England but the English batters were not able to counter the Indian bowling attack in a proper manner and the whole team got out for 129 runs in 35 overs.
Mohammed Shami once again made a great impact as he took 4 wickets and Bumrah also supported him well by taking 3 wickets. The other three wickets were shared between Kuldeep Yadav (2) and Ravindra Jadeja (1) and now team India on the top of the table with 12 points.
