Unlocking the Future: iOS 17 Update Brings ‘Passkeys’ Support to Apple IDs on iPhones, iPads, and Mac Laptops

Soon after Google introduced the passkeys, Apple is now introducing the password-less system for its iPhones, iPads, and Macs using which the users would be able to login without passwords. The users would get an assigned passkey for login with the upcoming iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS Sonoma.

The company expects that by making this adjustment, users would be able to access any program or tool linked to their Apple ID using FaceID or TouchID saved on their iPhone or Mac. The public will be able to purchase Apple PassKeys after iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and MacOS Sonoma are released. Apple PassKeys are currently being tested for iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and MacOS Sonoma.

Users will be able to access the Apple website or iCloud and see backed-up data, primarily Drive, Notes, and Contacts, Mail, Photos, and Calendar files, straight on the web with a Chrome or Edge browser. On the iCloud Web, there is a selection for iCloud Find Devices.

As a result of having a biometric ID, users are now able to sign in to Gmail using Google Passkeys rather than a password. Users now have the option to manually activate the mode thanks to Google. By touching on their profile photo, then selecting Google account management, security, and finally passkeys, users can access passkeys.
