Following its grand theatrical success, Daaku Maharaaj, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, made its digital debut on Netflix on February 21, 2025.
However, shortly after the announcement of its digital release, rumors began circulating that scenes featuring Urvashi Rautela had been removed from the OTT version. The speculation gained traction when Netflix’s promotional material excluded her from the lead cast announcement poster, leading many to believe that her sequences, including the song Dabidi Dabidi, had been omitted.
However, a latest report confirmed that there were no changes to the digital version. Urvashi’s introduction scene, where she is seen practicing yoga, remains intact, and Dabidi Dabidi, the much-talked-about song featuring Balakrishna and Urvashi, is very much a part of the film. With this clarification, all assumptions about her removal have been dismissed.
Daaku Maharaaj showcases Nandamuri Balakrishna in an intense and commanding role, portraying a righteous officer who, along with his wife, takes a stand against injustice. The gripping narrative follows his transformation into the fearless bandit Daaku Maharaaj, as he confronts a powerful and oppressive family to fight for justice. The film also features a stellar ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Rishi, Chandini Chowdary, Urvashi Rautela, and Pradeep Rawat. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film’s technical brilliance is credited to music composer Thaman, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editors Ruben and Niranjan Devaramane.
Having premiered during Sankranthi 2025, Daaku Maharaaj received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics. Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna is already gearing up for his next major project, Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Srinu. As the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, the upcoming film has generated immense anticipation, promising yet another high-octane action spectacle from the superstar.
