Varun Dhawan recently opened up about why he chose not to appear on Samay Raina popular show, India’s Got Latent. During an interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the Baby John actor admitted that while he enjoys the show’s humor, he was wary of the controversy it could bring.
Addressing Raina’s growing influence and unique comedic style, Varun revealed that he had received an invitation to be a guest but ultimately decided to decline. He clarified that it wasn’t about personal fear of being “canceled” but rather a concern that his presence could draw unnecessary scrutiny to the show. “He asked me to be on, and honestly, I’d love to. I thrive in that kind of environment. I’m not afraid of being canceled, but my worry is that it might negatively impact his show. The more attention you get with that kind of humor, the more it can become a crossfire,” Varun explained.
Ranveer Allahbadia attempted to convince him otherwise, but the actor stood firm on his decision. “I’d do it in a heartbeat, but I think the teams I work with might be apprehensive. I’d have to go on when I’m not promoting a project because it will definitely stir up something,” he added.
