Veer Zaara Re-Released, Beats The Buckingham Murders In Ticket Sales On First Day

Veer Zaara, the iconic film directed by Yash Chopra, has returned to cinemas today, September 13 as the movie has been re-released in the theatres.

Originally released in 2004, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji in a cross-border love story between Veer Pratap Singh and Zaara Hayaat Khan. Loved by audiences worldwide, the film was the highest-grossing Indian movie of its release year. Nearly two decades later, fans will once again have the chance to experience this emotional tale on the big screen.

Veer Zaara will be re-released in 250 theaters across India, with each theater hosting just one show per day. Despite the low-key nature of the re-release, Yash Raj Films has reported impressive early bookings. As per the reports, the film sold 3,250 tickets in advance for its first day across major cinema chains like PVR Inox and Cinepolis. Meanwhile, the MovieMax chain sold over 300 tickets, outperforming this week’s new release, The Buckingham Murders. The film is expected to earn between Rs 15-20 lakh on its opening day.

This is not the first time Yash Raj Films has re-released their old movies. The studio has previously brought back other classics such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, and Mohabbatein. Despite being available on digital platforms, Veer Zaara continues to attract audiences to theaters, underscoring the timeless appeal of watching beloved films in a cinema setting. The movie also features popular actors Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Kirron Kher, Boman Irani, and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles.
