The veteran actress Jaya Prada who is a politician now is facing legal trouble over an old case related to a cinema hall which was owned by her and her partners.

A Chennai court has sentenced Jaya Prada to six months imprisonment and has also imposed a fine of Rs. 5K and the same punishment has been awarded to the two partners of Jaya Prada – Ram Kumar and Raja Babu.

The case is related to a cinema hall in Chennai which was owned by Jaya Prada and her two partners but some years back, it was closed down due to losses. The employees who used to work in that cinema hall filed a case alleging that the owners of the cinema hall haven’t paid their amount of Employee State Insurance (ESI) which used to be deducted from their salaries.

The Labour Government Insurance Corporation took up the case; the legal proceedings took place in the Egmore court, Chennai, and now the verdict has been announced by the court.

Earlier Jaya Prada accepted the mistake on her part and promised to pay the amount to the employees; she requested the court to dismiss the case but her request was denied by the court.

More details are not available about the case but one thing is for sure that Jaya Prada is in a little trouble for now.
